If I painted the blades slightly with a spray paint, would the aerodynamic performance suffer from it significantly?
No, it will not effect the performance of the blades as long as you do not go crazy with the paint. One or two spray painted coats should not effect anything. Do not put thick coats on because then you run the risk of creating blades with significantly different weights which will create balancing problems.
