I have a GE Fanuc 2000 rpm 9 amp 165 volt servo motor I would like to add to my 12 volt system. My question to start with is what size blades/sweep area would be best for a 5 to 15+ mph wind area. I've been looking at the wind grabbers would they be able to start it under load ? Thanks for any input Bob
I would say 3 WindGrabber blades will be the best match for that motor. The 3 blade WindGrabbers should not have any trouble getting that motor spinning. For a 12 volt system, you should hit charging voltage in about 7-8 mph wind.
Thanks for the reply, it may be awhile before its ready to fly. Meanwhile the hyper spins are preforming nicely on my delco. Bob
Bumping old threads I know, but its been a long hard winter here with health problems along the way... I'm going to order a set of win grabbers and see if we can get this motor flying this spring. I'll post back as we progress but we will be awhile. Bob
Good luck with the build, these projects can go slow but once we get back in the groove they usually gain momentum. I'm ready for spring too, lots of projects to get rolling again. Dave
