Morningstar TriStar 45 Amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller
Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is a technique used by the TriStar MPPT-45 charge controller to get the maximum possible power from solar panels. The efficiency of a solar panel is influenced in complex ways by solar irradiation, temperature and total resistance, producing a non-linear output efficiency known as an I-V curve (I= amps and V= volts).
The TriStar MPPT-45 charge controller continuously samples the output of the solar panels and applies the proper instantaneous resistance (load) to continuously obtain the maximum power output from the solar panels. The end result is that the TriStar MPPT-45 will increase the power output of your solar panels by up to 35%!

FAQ by product
Any of our excellent charge controllers will work fine. The charge controller does not care about the inverter. That is a separate issue.
I would use 6 or 8 gauge for the dump load wiring and a 60 amp fuse for the dump loads. 10 gauge wire should be fine for the generator to the battery bank. A 60 amp fuse for the generator is good. The 1 Amp fuse is for connecting the charge controller to the battery bank. The charge controller only draws milliamps of current.
