28 inch HyperSpin Aluminum Blades (Set of 5)

The best low wind rotors for small wind generators!

For generators with larger permanent magnet motors, our five aircraft-grade aluminum HyperSpin wind generator blades are designed to spin fast and provide good power!

If you live in an area that frequently sees winds above 12 mph, then these wind turbine blades will work well on motors rated for 1000 Watts or more, with a "cut in" speed of 300 rpm or less. If your motor does not fit this description, then see our three-blade HyperSpin series or our three-blade TurboTorque series.

The five-blade HyperSpin blade set works well on permanent magnet alternators in the 500 Watt and under category, and on the following small wind generators and PMAs:

• AirX wind generators
• Hornet wind generators
• WindBlue PMA
• Any other wind generator/PMA in this power range

The five blade set will deliver more torque at a lower start-up wind speed to your PMA-driven wind turbine compared to our three blade model. However, it also gives you a lower rpm than a three-blade set, so be sure to check the specs on your generator before selecting the appropriate blade combo.

What is included with your purchase?

1. Five (5) 28-inch HyperSpin blades. The blades are about 5 inches wide at the base and 28 inches long (diameter of swept area is about 60 inches with the hub). HyperSpin blades are CNC-manufactured with a dimensional tolerance of 0.005 inches. They are perfectly balanced and spin fast and smooth. They are manufactured from aircraft-grade aluminum, making them light-weight, durable and rust-proof.
2. (optional) Precision-machined, stainless-steel hub. Our hubs are 0.1875 inches thick and 8 inches in diameter, and come with a center mounting hole that is 1/2 inch or 17 mm in diameter, perfect for most common DIY PMA and motor shafts, including Delco, WindBlue, and Ametek motors. Mount your hub with the help of an arbor, or drill out the hub to fit nearly any shaft. Our hubs are strong enough to handle stress forces that will be applied to it by the blades spinning in very strong winds. There is no need to worry about the hub rusting, bending or cracking. If you already have a hub, or don't need one, note that you may also order blades with no hub.
3. Mounting hardware (optional): 9 sets of stainless-steel locking nuts, bolts and washers.

Please note that these blades are not designed to withstand sustained hurricane force winds. Every wind turbine should have a mechanism in place--such as a furling vane--which protects your generator from wind speeds exceeding 35-40 mph. These blades are designed to withstand extreme wind gusts, not sustained conditions.
